Fabric Porn to Cure the Post-Holiday Blues

In order to give my fingers a break from the sexy claw-like grip I utilize while piecing my hexies (they're finally starting to look like a table runner!!) I gave a little perusal to the up-and-comings over at the Fat Quarter Shop. If you're a fabric fiend and would like to pass a few pleasant moments, head on over to the Coming Soon section and just keep scrolling. There is some great stuff coming out this year. I picked a few to share with you that made me do a little internal squeal of delight when I saw them :) Of course, they'll be available in places other FQS, but they make up really delightful mosaics that give a nice feel for the collections. All images are from their site (in case the bright pink labels didn't tip you off). All witty banter is courtesy of yours truly.

This one made me gasp (literally). I am not a purple person at all, but I do like this a lot. I don't know if I could creatively use all those purples myself, but there are a few prints I like.

I had to pick this one for nostalgia purposes. Anyone else think 'Goonies?' "Chester Copperpot. I have the key to One-Eyed Willie..." Plus it is warm and pretty, no?

I don't know what I'd make with this but I do love it. I remember when I fell in love with bees. I was reading 'Under the Tuscan Sun' and the author was saying how the drone bees' only purpose is to sexually serve the queen bee. But the female worker bees get to go out and gather pollen to make honey and get things growing. The line that grabbed me was when she wrote (loosely) "Who wouldn't want to roll around inside flowers all day?"

Do you guys remember her? I remember having stickers and a photo album and all kinds of merchandise, but I don't remember if she was a show or a movie or a book or just 'stuff.' I think I still have a sheet of old yellowed stickers...

I have a squishy soft spot for all things cowboy. If I ever get to have kids, and one of those is a boy, I'd looooove to decorate his room similar to the above. Lovely vintage buckaroos--ca-uuute! I must point out that it's spelled wrong. It should be 'sarsaparilla.' If my sisters made it this far in this post they just rolled their eyes. And my mom just chuckled.

I dig the plaids, man. I like that they're coming out with more boy-oriented prints. Normally I would think "Whatevs" but I have two nephews so I have a personal interest in fabric gender now. I don't know that I would have noticed the disparity if I had nieces.

These would make some ridiculously sweet kitchen goodies. I love the range of colors in this line (as well as those wee little cherries).

Now, please don't go virtually throwing things in my direction. I am well aware that last week was Christmas, but Orthodox individuals have their Christmas in a few days so technically we're still within the season...

Isn't that just beautiful? So classy and elegant. I think this one might be at the top of my "To Buy" list.

None of these are available yet, but I believe the latest due date is June. FQS has a nifty feature that lets you sign up to be notified when a 'Coming Soon' product arrives so you can scoot over and grab your goods before the casual browser happens upon them. Just a note: I am not affiliated with the Fat Quarter Shop in any way, shape, or form. I don't receive compensation or freebies or anything for writing about them--I just think it's an insanely well-stocked shop that has a ton of variety and ships crazy quick. When I like a shop I like to share. Sharing is caring, you guys. Just hide your wallet when you visit.

I'm hoping the lovely fabric goodies coming our way in 2013 is a metaphor for general awesomeness in the coming days.
